it's not good at all to see self but not your face
This is what Jessica from Stanford wrote about my writing skills.
"It was a pleasure getting to know Jie Yang and his writing during the two weeks of this course. Jie Yang contributed a great deal to the lively social atmosphere. While his responses to daily questions about reading comprehension and rhetorical strategy did show some improvement, I hope he will strive to continue learning from the successes and failures of the writers he read.
Jie Yang does a very good job of incorporating humour into this writing, and an equally good job controlling and manipulating the tone of his work. Both of these techniques are nearly impossible to teach, so I hope Jie Yang will work to cultivate them.
I think that Jie Yang 's next step as a writer should include a concerted effort to rid his writing of cliches, making careful choices about diction and focusing on clarity on a paragraph level. Should Jie Yang think carefully about the point of each paragraph he writes, he will be able to bring his analytical writing to stronger and more compelling conclusions. All of that would simply be a matter of willpower- Jie Yang certainly has the talent."
I'm really touched by what she has wrote. It has been really a while since anyone older than me by 5 years have placed any faith in me.
Then again, I am dearly hoping that I wouldn't disappoint her.
